About The Event

I am going to give you a glimpse of what is in store for you as we are still in the planning process but all is falling into place nicely.

Our first keynote speaker will be Gary Sipiorski looking at the Macro view of the dairy industry - what is coming at us that we cannot change but we will need to learn to adapt to. This will be followed by Breakout sessions covering the Micro view of the dairy - how to survive and thrive along with looking at the economics of accelerated heifer raising, understanding what to do if OSHA is coming, and what are the current legal aspects affecting the Indiana dairy industry.

The second keynote will be presented by Kristy Pagel answering the question, why do we need transition planning, something that is often neglected but that eventually happens to each and every business - dairy being no different! The Breakouts following this will consist of a deeper dive into transition planning, a producer panel to discuss on farm processing and the opportunities it holds, a current look at the dairy markets, and what might be holding you back in better forage quality.

Each Breakout session will be repeated so you need at least two from your farm to cover them all.

We are really pleased with the beginning of our Trade Show, planning for it to be larger than two years ago and allowing plenty of time to visit. We will again be presenting our Producer and Young Producer of the Year awards, the IDP scholarship, along with other awards that pop up. The Silent Auction which provided funds for our Scholarship Program that was enjoyed by all will be returning.

The final keynote will be Chris Koch telling his story entitled "If I Can", I promise you will leave inspired and motivated!

The venue is fabulous, the food will be great, dairy products to enjoy in abundance, and the opportunity to meet new friends and learn from each other will most likely be the most valuable take-away for each one attending. Add these dates to your calendar now and watch for registration to open up - we look forward to seeing you in French Lick!
